ABOUT THE FOUNDATIONENCONTRARSE EN LA DIVERSIDAD (MEETING IN DIVERSITY) IS THE PIONEERING ORGANIZATION IN ISSUES OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN ARGENTINA.
For the last 13 years, we have been wondering about being with others, while staying true to ourselves. This question led us to organize the first Meeting in Diversity in 2007, focused on issues around identities, coexistence and promotion of diversity in different contexts. 200 young people participated in this first encounter, consisting of workshops and panels tackling some of the tensions present in everyday social interactions: prejudice, stereotypes and intercultural dialogue, among others. 13 years later, 2500 young people participate in the event each year, continuing in the search for all the different things we have in common.
Throughout the year, we carry out workshops and awareness-raising activities in all educational institutions and organizations involved in our projects. We see dialogue and coming together as essential tools to overcome prejudice and create new practices that promote diversity, inclusion and human rights. We address these questions through play, discussion, debate and reflection. During the first 13 years, more than 8500 people have participated in our activities. In order to achieve our objectives, we aspire to keep growing and improving ourselves.
A society where the diversity of its members is understood as a value that enriches and strengthens us both as individuals and as a community.
To collaborate in creating a more just, inclusive and diverse society, where individuals are seen as unique, different and having equal rights, both in thought and in practice.
To provide our society with new ideas and resources that promote a coexistence enriched by the differences of its members, fostering their growth.
To create spaces for education and participation, promoting a critical reflection of the reality surrounding us, as well as creating new ways of transforming this reality.
To educate and help people to be proud of their identities, aware of their past and in charge of their possible transformations.
To promote diversity through education, participation and dialogue. To raise awareness of discriminatory social practices that limit people’s abilities to fully exercise their rights.
